Nigerian president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has rewarded the Super
Eagles who came third at this year's African Nations Championship (Chan)
in South Africa.
Jonathan, who hosted the team to a grand reception at the
Presidential Villa in Abuja, gave each player N1 million and the head
coach, Stephen Keshi received N1.5 million.
Keshi's assistants were rewarded with the sum of N1 million each by
the Nigerian number one citizen who was elated with their display
despite winning bronze.
Other members of the backroom staff received the sum of N500,000 each at the presidential villa on Thursday night.
Super Eagles midfielder, Abdullahi Shehu was in joyous momentum when speaking to supersport.com on Friday morning.
“I would like to thank president Goodluck Jonathan for the money he gave to us last night at the presidential villa.
“I have never seen him (Jonathan) one-on-one before in my life, and I
would also want to thank coach Stephen Keshi who gave me the chance to
be part of the team,” the Kano Pillars' man told supersport.com
Shehu has also been included among the Nigerian Super Eagles that
will face Mexico in next month friendly duel which will hold in America.
